Board of Trustees Responsibilities
The S.W.A.P. Board of Trustees provides governance and oversight to ensure the organization fulfills its mission with integrity, transparency, and accountability. Key responsibilities include:

Setting strategic direction and upholding the organization’s mission and values

Providing financial oversight, risk management, and compliance with legal and ethical standards

Supporting executive leadership and evaluating organizational performance

Strengthening corporate, philanthropic, and community partnerships

Advancing equity-centered, results-driven decision-making
Eligibility Criteria & Expectations
S.W.A.P. seeks corporate and professional leaders who are committed to leveraging their expertise, influence, and networks to advance community impact. Board members are expected to:

Serve as ambassadors for S.W.A.P. and actively promote the organization’s mission

Attend and participate in board and committee meetings

Provide strategic insight, governance expertise, and professional guidance

Uphold fiduciary responsibilities and ethical leadership standards

Support fundraising initiatives and facilitate connections to corporate and philanthropic partners
Experience in executive leadership, finance, legal, human resources, marketing, or operations is highly valued. Prior board experience is beneficial but not required.
